Package: xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse
Version: 1:12.5.1-4
Severity: grave
File: vmmouse
Justification: renders package unusable

Hello

I tried installing vmmouse inside qemu, fails to provide a pointer at
all.

If I understand the log correctly vmmouse detects a vmware mouse, then
proceeds to incorrectly load the normal mouse, and then both vmmouse and
mouse are unloaded leaving the user with no pointer.

Looks like vmmouse is completely broken.

Note that with the default "mouse" driver you do get some mouse,
although it is hard to use (relative pointer movement only while the host
pointer is inside guest window - makes some places unreachable without
convoluted mouse manuevering).

The vmmouse package promises to use the vmmouse facility if available
and fall back to default mouse otherwise. It delivers neither.

Thanks

Michal

Description:
 xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse - X.Org X server -- VMMouse input driver to use with VMWare
Closes: 509053 509458
Changes:
 xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse (1:12.6.3-1) experimental; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream release.
   * Drop patch vmmouse_scale_input_data.diff, it's been fixed upstream a while
     back.
   * Run autoreconf at build time. Build-depend on automake, libtool and
     xutils-dev.
   * Handle parallel builds.
   * Install a detection program, a hal fdi file and a callout script for X
     input hotplug. This closes: #509053, since the vmmouse no longer needs to
     be configured in xorg.conf.
   * Don't override the manpage suffix, it should be vmmouse(4) not
     vmmouse(4x).
   * Build against xserver 1.6 rc1.
   * Add myself to Uploaders.
   * Add Depends on xserver-xorg-input-mouse (closes: #509458)
