Bug#486330: Confirming this on sid + kde 4.1.3 from experimental



I am seeing this as well.
Also 'Alt Gr' (can't get @-character as it is on Alt Gr+2) and Danish characters doesn't work. I suspect because of this. Btw, I am using Sun VirtualBox, Debian is running hosted on Windows Vista 32bit.
