Bug#510429: X queue fills up, then locks up system
Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 1:7.3+18
I'm not sure where the actual problem lies, but I feel like x or
related should handle it better regardless so I'm submitting it on
that package.
I did not have this issue with etch. I did a dist-upgrade to lenny
and now I have this issue. I have this issue with a custom kernel
that's 2.6.21, and I also tried a custom kernel that's 2.6.28.
When I run glxgears -info, if I very quickly close the window, I get:
XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0.0"
after 6009 requests (3656 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
If I don't close the window fast enough, I have to hard reboot, and
Xorg log contains:
tossed event which came in late
mieqEnequeue: out-of-order valuator event; dropping.
over and over again. I have a thinkpad x60 with an intel 945gm
graphics card. In the 2.6.28 kernel I removed intelfb driver because
I was informed that it was possibly interfering with the intel
graphics driver (i915?). But the issue occurs with both of these
kernels, as I said. I also tried changing the "Device" line in
xorg.conf to "i810" from "intel" and the same XIO fatal IO error
occurs.
