Bug#496315: It also fails with recent kernels

I've been bitten by the same error as described in this linux kernel
thread
<https://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/linux-kernel/2008/10/19/3723724> but
with a different machine.

I have a brand new shining fujitsu siemens AMILO Notebook Xi 3650 with
a dual graphic system (Intel/NVidia). I installed debian etch first with
the brand new rc installer without problem (2.6.26 kernel 1.4.2 X
server, and I duunno what version for Intel driver). It was working at
1920x1080 without problems. I then moved to debian experimental to get
kde4, newer X and so on and unfortunately it broke.

I now have a working 2.6.28-rc6 kernel that works great when I force to
use the nvidia chipset via a BIOS option. Unfortunately booting vista
gives me *only* a VGA display and is therefore not a viable solution
(grrr.... I do not know what they do but even trying to find gaphical
devices on vista does not solve the pb...). When booting with the
default dual mode or IGD, I have the xf86BindGARTMemory: binding of gart
memory with key 0,> at offset 0x1f7f000 failed .

Setting:
    kernel: 2.6.28-rc6 pure 64 bits
I have the intel xorg driver version 2.4.2. I may be able to compile
2.5.1 for amd64
    Xorg version 1.5.3
