Bug#491205: xserver-xorg-video-intel causes X to crash irrecoverably and without warning
I experience the same symptoms on a Q33 chipset (X3100), too. X crashes saying
"fatal server error: lockup", th edisplay looks corrupt, then I'm booted back to
a console. I can't restart X, and can only do so after a reboot.
However, I have been able to semi-reliably reproduce the problem using the
'osd_cat' program. It doesn't crash *consistently*, but does crash say, 5 times
out of 10.
Cheers,
Peter
