Besides, While my laptop was able to run compiz with kde3, I cannot enable "visual effects on KDE4" via system settings as it used to simply crash X or put only garbage on my screen. Now it does not crash anymore (display hangs for a while) but do not enable any effects. So I do think compiz may be usefull until "enable visual effects on KDE4" is working with more drivers/chipset combination. -- eric
