I have tried it with (and without) this modmap file: clear mod1 clear mod4 keycode 0x73 = Alt_L keycode 0x40 = Meta_L add mod4 = Alt_L add mod1 = Meta_L Also with GNOME and Openbox. The issue has appeared during the last month.
