Bug#462441: xserver-xorg: alt key gets stuck

I've seen this as recently as 2:1.4.1~git20080131-2, quite regularly, once 
in two days to twice a day. Trying to use setxkbmap to reset the keyboard 
layout causes the X server to instantly crash citing Xkb.

I am really, really sick of the numerous bugs in Xorg 7.3. Enough that I've 
downgraded to 7.2 wholesale using snapshot.debian.net.

Another question: why does nvidia-glx depend on xserver-xorg-core (>= 
2:1.4)? Upstream has no such dependency, and because of this I had to 
generate equivs for all the GL stuff and install using the binary driver. 
Very annoying.
