Bug#481361: xserver-xorg-video-ati: No display on DVI output

First, as I said in a previous email (which I can't find now), this
problem is still present in xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.9.0-1+lenny4.

Fortunately, after some searching, I found the Git repository for my
driver. It would be nice if this information was available in the
xserver-xorg-video-ati package (after all we're open-source so why not
make it easy for the user to find the authoritative source of the code).

>From there I could do a git-bisect which pointed me to this patch as the
culprit:

Unfortunately it is somewhat long and cannot cleanly be reverted in the
current tip. But hopefully it will point the way to the fix.
