Bug#498249: x11-xserver-utils: xrandr shows resolutions which the monitor cannot display
Package: x11-xserver-utils
Version: 7.3+5
Severity: normal
Hello,
my monitor has a maximun resolution of 1280x1024 but xrandr shows me three wrong
resolutions:
$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1600 x 1200
DVI-1 connected 1280x1024+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

DVI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
1600x1024 1400x1050 and 1440x900 are not possible. My xorg.conf is very simple
(from a lenny installation last month):

As you can see no 1400x or 1600x resolutions.
xrandr shouldn't display these resolutions because the monitor cannot handle it.
Thank you.
