Bug#485615: dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg doesn't define Monitor values

The actual problem is probably the same that I have: After
installation, all you can get is a desktop with 640x480 @ 50 Hz ->
autoconfiguration failed. Not everyone may have that problem but asking
in several forums shows that it fails for quite a few people.

So I need to edit the missing parts of it manually (which takes *quite*
some time if you don't do this regularly) while deleting a few lines
from a sane default-configuration takes seconds (if you REALLY want
autoconfiguration). And if the default-configuration doesn't work that
well for someone then he/she can just edit the lines that are already
there which is a lot easier than doing it from scratch.

The problem may be the xorg-devs , but still... I don't see why the
autoconfiguration is the default. If you want it or it works for you:
fine. If you doesn't: too bad, two hours of reading man-pages and
trail-and-error or googling for a sane default with w3m (or
Epiphany/Konqueror on a 19"-CRT @ 640x480).
Fun.

Regards,
Tim
