Hi Julien,
I tried your suggestion, unfortunately in vain, I still continue to
get the same problem.
I'm attaching the xorg log file.
Now I'm getting this error:
(II) LoadModule: "synaptics"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input//synaptics_drv.so
(II) Module synaptics: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 4.3.99.902, module version = 1.0.0
Module class: X.Org XInput Driver
ABI class: X.Org XInput driver, version 2.0
...
(II) Synaptics touchpad driver version 0.14.6 (1406)
Synaptics Touchpad no synaptics event device found
(EE) xf86OpenSerial: No Device specified.
Synaptics driver unable to open device
(EE) PreInit failed for input device "Synaptics Touchpad"
(II) UnloadModule: "synaptics"
Here it is the synaptics stanza in my xorg.conf file:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "on"
# Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
Option "SHMConfig" "on"
EndSection
Regards and thanks for your help in so far.
