Hi Andreas,
switching to the ttys is done with ctrl+alt+Fn, not ctrl+Fn. If that
still doesn't work with xkb-data 1.3, can you please send your Xorg log
(/var/log/Xorg.0.log) and config (/etc/X11/xorg.conf), as well as the
output of setxkbmap -print?
