Hmmm, /var/log/Xorg.0.log said (==) intel(0): DPI set to (96, 96) all along, -dpi 96 or not. Maybe I should compare the state of X on my two computers to find the difference that makes the font double spaced on one. What output should I compare, "xset q"? Xorg.0.log? I suppose I would use $ sort output1 output2|uniq -u to find the differences.
