Yes, I now have X 1:7.3+10 and the ATI driver 1:6.8.0-1. I still
experience some unpredicatble crashes. A few times it happened when I
ran a program that tried to use more memory than the available RAM. So
maybe despite the fact that I do not encounter crashes with OSX, it may
be a hardware problem after all. I ran the memtester program, and it
never stopped (It sometimes paused, however).

Sometimes I have many crashes a day, sometimes not. Importantly, I never
switch the computer off in week days. Maybe it crashes until some kind
of bad ram gets in an area that for whatever reason is not allocated
until the next reboot; that could explain why sometimes I have no
problem for more than a week?

Shall I try Sid's packages ?
