Status of input scaling issue and fix in unstable?

Is the axis scaling issue for extension motion events described in the
following upstream bug report fixed for unstable?  If not, could it be?  I'm
seeing behavior consistent with the problem described, which should now be
fixed in the master branch of upstream git.
