Package: compiz
Version: 0.6.3~git20071222.061ff159-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

first time here with compiz, wanted to use the "invert colors" functionality of compiz,
because the evince pdf reader give no color change options.
I have added the xorg.conf entries as described in the
$package/readme.debian file. Still it doesn't seem to work here:

anki@debian:~$ compiz --replace &
[1] 2950
anki@debian:~$ Checking for Xgl: not present.
No whitelisted driver found
aborting and using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity

Regards,
Brian

Which driver do you use?

Section "Device"
Identifier "VMware Inc [VMware SVGA II] PCI Display Adapter"
        Driver "vmware"
        BusID "PCI:0:15:0"
EndSection

Well, you can't expect Compiz to work within VMware unless there is accelerated rendering with this driver, and I don't think it's the case so far. This is the reason why "no whitelisted driver found" is displayed and Compiz refuses to start.
