It probably doesn't really use that much memory up front. The log file
has a detailed overview of the AGP aperture layout after 'Memory
allocation layout:', but note that e.g. the 'DRI memory manager' item is
just a reservation of aperture space and doesn't actually use up any
memory until you run a 3D application with the new i915tex Mesa driver
(for which you'd need at least a 2.6.21 kernel and drm GIT at this
time).
