This is probably upstream bug

It is already fixed and will be for the next release of this driver.

To be sure, could you send the output of
    /usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg/script 3>&1
AFTER the crash (without restarting the X server) so that we see your
config and the backtrace of the crash and the end of Xorg.0.log?
