When it comes at etch, it is now definitely too late given the planned release date (next week-end!)...and we can safely bet that, if the layout is fixed upstream, it will reach Debian lenny pretty soon. So, in short, if this bug has been reported upstream, I see a very low benefit in keeping it opened in Debian.
