I'll give this a try (I'm running 192 at present since I'm tracking lenny). Lately I've developed fresh problems with the X server--I'm not sure about the exact cause but the symptom is that the Xorg process goes crazy and chews up 100% CPU (or even just over that according to top on my SMP system, which was a new experience for me) and is totally unresponsive to everything including all signals. The hardware-accelerated cursor is still drivable but that's about it. Next time this happens I'll see if I can attach GDB to the X server and see where it's spinning. -- G.
