Hi,

I've just upgraded these packages:

xserver-xorg-input-kbd from 1:1.2.0-1+1.2.1 to 1:1.2.2-3
xserver-xorg-input-mouse from 1:1.2.2-1 to 1:1.2.3-2
xserver-xorg from 1:7.2-5 to 1:7.3+7
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics from 0.14.7~git20070517-2 to 0.14.7~git20070706-1
xserver-xorg-video-ati from 1:6.6.3-2 to 1:6.6.193-3
xserver-xorg-core from 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12 to 2:1.4.1~git20071119-1

everything work fine except the touchpad.

In X, the command
# cat /dev/input/event9
doesn't show anything, even if I press the touchpad.

If I go out of X (Ctrl-Alt-F1),
# cat /dev/input/event9
shows the 'usual strange codes' ;-) when I press the touchpad.

I don't think the problem is in xserver-xorg-input-synaptics cause the
driver works well (see log) and neither in xserver-xorg-input-kbd,
xserver-xorg-input-mouse, xserver-xorg-video-ati cause these packages
don't matter with touchpad.

Did you get your touchpad to work again after upgrading to latest xserver-xorg-core and drivers from unstable? Does it work if you try without any xorg.conf at all?

Brice
