First, now upgrading to testing or unstable is not going to happen, sorry. Secondly, I have learnt that some crashes is related to the presence/absence of an external mouse. When an external mouse is plugged in during sleep, the internal touchpad entry in /proc/bus/input/devices is removed. I have stopped using external mouse completely, which seem to have reduced the number of crashes. One thing I have been thinking about is to define a serial mouse as core pointer, with the idea that the serial mouse would always be present as a device (even when not physically plugged in).
