Bug#443059: GDM and the keyboard freezes while trying to load xwindows

Assuming this bug still occurs with 6.7.196-1 currently in experimental:
About the freeze when using DRI, one thing you could try first:
Reenable DRI and add
Option "BusType" "PCI"
to the Device section of xorg.conf. See if you still get a freeze
on startup.

Good to know. What do you mean exactly with "not as wide"? Is the
resolution wrong? If so, can you select a better one with xrandr?

This could just be related to input bugs in xserver-xorg-core 1.4
currently in unstable. Could be fixed soon (when 1.4.1 arrives).
