Latest Testing Xorg, NVIDIA, and GLX

I've saw that several people were reporting a similar issue on various
forums while I hunted for a solution to this, so I thought I would
pass on what info I have in hopes that it helps.

Probably related to Bug#443794. This afternoon when I performed this
upgrade on my Debian Lenny system:

xserver-xorg-core (2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12) to 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-12lenny1

All OpenGL/GLX programs immediately stopped working. I first noticed
this when my screensaver caused X to crash back to gdm and
experimented with a number of other programs including Wine. All with
the same result.

The most interesting one was the NVIDIA X Server Settings GUI program
which worked fine until I clicked on the OpenGL/GLX tab, at which
point it also crashed X.

I upgraded to the newer version of xserver-xorg-core in the sid
repository to see if it resolved the problem, but no luck.

Reinstalling the NVIDIA drivers (same version: 100.14.19) did fix it.
While the install was running it reported that some other program had
modified some of its files, for example installing a driver from the
package manager. I haven't done that. A search in synaptic doesn't
even show the proprietary nvidia driver in the repositories that I
have enabled.

The relevant part of the Xorg.0.log file is here:

Backtrace:
0: /usr/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x6d) [0x48588d]
1: /lib/libc.so.6 [0x2b039021a6a0]

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

I attached the log in case any more useful data can be extracted.

I have a Geforce 7900 GT 256 MB running Twin View. No problems before
downloading the updates. No problems (knock on wood) since
reinstalling the drivers.
