Bug#443503: Mouse double clicks always

Is there anything else can be done about this?

Same problem here. I removed a 2nd mouse entry from my xorg.conf and restarted gdm and the behaviour is still bizarre.

Here's my current mouse configuration from my xorg.conf:

#Section "InputDevice"
#    Identifier    "Configured Mouse"
#    Driver        "mouse"
#    Option        "CorePointer"
#    Option        "Device"        "/dev/psaux"
#    Option        "Protocol"        "ImPS/2"
#    Option        "ZAxisMapping"        "4 5"
#EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier    "Generic Mouse"
    Driver        "mouse"
    Option        "SendCoreEvents"    "true"
    Option        "Device"        "/dev/input/mice"
    Option        "Protocol"        "ImPS/2"
    Option        "ZAxisMapping"        "4 5"
EndSection

Running lsof on /dev/input/mice shows Xorg accessing the device twice. Is this correct behaviour?

$sudo lsof /dev/input/mice
COMMAND  PID USER   FD   TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME
Xorg    5578 root   14u   CHR  13,63      2054 /dev/input/mice
Xorg    5578 root   15u   CHR  13,63      2054 /dev/input/mice

Thanks

The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots.
