Can you > try 6.7.193 or ati git head and see if that helps? I downloaded and compiled 6.7.193 in my own cowbuilder (since it isn't built in experimental for amd64 yet). It does help. The driver now correctly detects what's connected to the VGA port, and xrandr reports it correctly. Thanks. 6.7.193 still displays the 1280x1024 redraw bug. I'm at home now and won't have access to the projector I was using to debug this until Monday. Using my laptop with my desktop machine's LCD screen, the faded 1024x768 bug didn't appear in 6.7.192 or 6.7.193, so I can't say whether it's fixed or not. --Ken -- Ken Bloom. PhD candidate.
