A different backlight regression has been reported in 2.1.1

Could you try reverting the following commit from driver 2.1.1 ?

Also, testing the latest upstream git master might be good. Note that
the commit to revert would be 0da4f2b0cd7203377ad10407928a367b8c6d310e
there.
