You need to add a line specifying a virtual size at least as big as
1680x1050. The default virtual size for the new ati driver is 1600x1200,
so it picks the biggest mode fitting this.

Alex Deucher plans to change the code to set reasonable defaults based
on available vram in a later version of the driver.
