Bug#434388: Chroot mode

Package: xresprobe
Version: 0.4.23debian1
Severity: wishlist

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
I'd like xresprobe not to be called when xserver-xorg is installed and
configured on a chroot. This happens for example when you build a live
CD with the live-helper utiliby, that essentially debootstraps a chroot
in which all the live CD related software is installed. As you may
imagine, X is configured during boot time and the xresprobe run at
install time is annoying, since the host screen flickers and in my
particular case (i945 video card) there is an high probability that X
crashes because of this probing.

I'd like the utility to support a 'chroot mode', maybe looking at an
evironment variable or a special file somewhere, and not run if the
chroot mode is detected.

Cheers
