Which driver? You should try with 2:2.1.0-2 currently in unstable. Then
it will probably enable all connected outputs at startup and you should
use xrandr (or grandr) to configure them as you wish (xrandr --output
VGA --mode 1600x1200 or so). Does this help? If not, what does xrandr
report after startup? Which resolutions do you want on each output?
