Ok, thanks, I am marking this bug as forwarded upstream at the URL above.
Since the comments on this upstream bug are pretty old, it will be good
to reply there and explain that the problem still occurs today, with
Xserver (xserver-xorg-core) 1.3. Could you either do it or tell me which
Xorg packages you did reproduce this bug with?
