No, no, no!!!  Please don't do that!!!

I've got an older NVIDIA graphics card (GeForce4 MX 440) which doesn't
run with any driver later than 1.0-96xx.  So if you make xserver-xorg
conflict with older nvidia drivers, then even using the gcc -shared
workaround, I won't be able to install it.

There must be a better solution?
