Severity: normal

Hi,

I've had the BackingStore option enabled for a long time in my xorg.conf.
Approximatively when I upgraded to xorg 7, some areas of the screen started not
to be redranwn. In particular, when I close a window, the portion of the window
below it is often left as a black (or white) square.
It took me some time to understand that it came from the BackingStore option
of my xorg.conf (the problem vanishes if I remove this option).

Thanks for your work.

Cheers,

Samuel.

The backing store should not be used, it is considered slow and buggy,
see for instance https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6663
We already have bug #245548 against the server about this, no need to
keep this bug open too.

Brice
