I'm not the submitter, anyway this bug is gone.
It was the same as 406499 and 351621, now the ALPS detection is
completely handled by the synaptics driver which sets better values for
this hw.

   * git snapshot of the driver:
        - from commit e6595886d7ae3a1730cd0d9f86fd0f305c0743c2
	       "[...] synaptics, alps and appletouch pads all work
	       approximately identically without requiring
	       model-specific configuration"

IMO this can be closed immediately.
