There is probably an easy fix for this... may not even be Imagemagick's
problem.  But whenever I try to run display I get:

display: unable to load font `-*-helvetica-medium-r-normal--12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1'.

Closing since the submitter didn't reply to Shawn's ping a while ago.
The problem might have been related to the Xorg Fontpath transition
missing some corner cases. We are not going to fix this anymore anyway.
