I don't know.
Is there any indication that upstream thinks they've made changes that
might fix this?
I looked around some for the upstream changelogs in the Debian packages,
but couldn't find them.

The previous 2 bugs both look different from mine, because they say it
was working and then locked up when they used the scrollbar.  I got
instant death.

Maybe for that one.   The initial report at least concerns total
non-operation.  The followups seem to be all over the map.

One peculiarity of my experience was that the problem used all CPU in
one case and then very little on a later try.  Both conditions required
a reboot, though.

Of course, any of the bugs might have the same underlying cause; the
exact symptoms might vary with the hardware.  Too bad both the upstream
bugs remain open.
