Josh Triplett and I recreated part of the fix you cite recently because Xlib/XCB reveals the same problem, even for single-threaded apps. However, we weren't aware of the existing bug reports, so a complete fix isn't in place upstream yet. So thank you for this note. Hopefully the complete fix will be available upstream soon. In the meantime, the Wine developers apparently believe they have a workaround in their code, as of 0.9.35. --Jamey
