Bug#427384: compiz broken in lenny after libc6 upgrade
Package: compiz
Version: 0.2.2-1
Severity: important
Hi,
Given there probably aren't many compiz 0.2.2-1 users in lenny, I'd
thought I'd report this.
I'm using KDE 3.5.5 and compiz worked wonderfully before 02/05/07 where
the libc6 upgrade and a slew of other packages came through.
After this upgrade compiz has failed on two machines here with KDE.
One's an IBM X40 Thinkpad with and intel GFX card while the other is a
3200+ AMD (32-bit lenny) with an NVIDIA card.
Both machines show the same problem, and that's although compiz loads as
it did before, you can't see much changing on the screen. So for
example, although I'll click the 'k' for the KDE menu, you don't see it
come up, however it is there if you click where the menu items would be.
Similarly, if you pressed control-alt-delete and then press 'alt-e', KDE
will log out gracefully.
I don't know what could have happened however I fear that it'll be some
time before a usable KDE and compiz in lenny will be available again :(
Maybe it's time to push through 0.3.6 ;0)
Thanks for your time.
If you need any more information or if you can't reproduce this and
would like a video, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help
