I didn't try to reproduce the bug recently. I currently don't have access to 
an Etch machine where I can try to reproduce it, unfortunately.

Back then the maintainers told me it was fixed in CVS, so I guess it's fixed 
now. AFAIC, you can close it. If I encounter the problem again later, I will 
reopen or re-report it.
