   On a VIA ME-6000 motherboard (VIA Eden C3 CPU at 600MHz), I get a
SIGILL when starting X from experimental. On this CPU, it's usually a
sign that something has been compiled for a "standard" i686. The
Ezra-based C3s, which this CPU is, lack the CMOV instruction on most
686-class CPUs. Building for no later than i586 will, I believe, fix
this problem. I can't test it myself, because I can't seem to get the
X sources from experimental to build on the machine.

A log of the session follows:

sh-3.00$ startx
