You should add Option "ModeDebug" "yes" to the Device section to get
more details.

Most? Or just a couple ones listed below?

This is ignored with xserver 1.3 and the intel driver 2.0.

Might be ignored too. At least not required anymore. Not sure.

Maybe there's a better way to do it, but could you try adding a "Virtual
1024 768" line right here?
