Hi,

/usr/bin/Xorg -version now returns this answer:

X Window System Version 1.3.0
Release Date: 19 April 2007
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0, Release 1.3
Build Operating System: Linux Debian
Current Operating System: Linux ramasmiette 2.6.21-rc7-2 #1 Wed Apr 18 23:30:17
CEST 2007 i686
Build Date: 20 April 2007
        Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org
to make sure that you have the latest version.
Module Loader present

"X Window System Version 1.3.0" Why 1.3.0?? It should be 7.1.0 and it breaks at
least ati fglrx drivers installer and probably every softwares checking Xorg
version.

Xavier.

Hi Xavier,

X.org is modular now. The version number of Xorg does not mean much,
it's sort a tag on lots of components. Right now, unstable contains many
components from 7.2, a couple from 7.1 to be updated soon (including
xorg/xserver-xorg/x11-common), and some already more recent than 7.2
(inclusing xserver-xorg-core).

The core component of X.org is the X server (aka xserver-xorg-core,
already 1.3.0 in unstable and upstream). This is why you see 1.3 here.
Software should not check Xorg version, only the Xserver version is
relevant. fglrx has to be updated to support Xserver 1.2 (the one in
7.2) and our Xserver 1.3.

So, there is no bug here (apart possibly "X Window System Version"
should be replaced with "X Server Version").

Brice
