Thank you again for following up!  On a current unstable system, the
behavior is the same as indicated in the bug log.  In case it helps,
here are more explicit steps to reproduce:

1.  Open an xterm.
2.  Run "xprop | grep -w id", click on the xterm, and note the id.
3.  Run "xev -id 0xnnnnnnnn", where the last argument is the id.
4.  Play around in the xterm and note the mysterious behavior.

This bug probable needs a NOBODYCARES tag. :-)
