It did. Ran for a while, then gave an error about capplets-data, which
I decide meant it was damaged - I deleted it, restarted the apt-get -f
install, and it ran for quite a while longer.
Now I'm at:
updmap-sys failed. Output has been stored in:
/tmp/tetex.updmap.tTOp7688
