Bug#366355: #366355: Bad pixmaps in some cases here, too

Hi,

I was browsing debian-x archives and came across mention of this bug,
and realized I just saw the "garbled pixmap" form of it a few days ago...

On Friday (I think) I was sitting at an AMD64 workstation running
Debian/etch, logged in with ssh -X to an x86 workstation running
Debian/sarge. Running Thunderbird on the Sarge machine (i.e. X server
on amd64/etch, client on i386/sarge), the Thunderbird icons were all
garbled, as were the displays of any image attachments in the email viewer.

Peculiarly enough, running Firefox over the same connection experienced
no such problems: both web browser images and icons were fine. Also,
double-clicking the attachment icons for attached images in Thunderbird
pops up the images in an ImageMagick "display" window, where they looked
fine also. I didn't try Thunderbird again to see if the problem was
intermittent there.

Unfortunately I am now across the country from both machines in
question, so this email is probably not much more use to you than a "me,
too"... I can send the XF86Config-4 and xorg.conf files for both
machines if that would be of any use.

best regards,
