Package: kaffeine
Version: 0.6-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

When I try to play some wmv files kaffeine garbles the screen a
eventually crashes the X server. Kdm is unable to start the server
again, so the only way to get the system usable is getting through
another interfaces as I found impossible to switch to a text console.

I sometimes can recover the system, putting it into sleep mode (acpi S3, close lid on a laptop) and put it back again in normal run after doing a video post. After that I can restart kdm succesfully as root.

One of the files that lead me to this situation can be found at
http://www.yonkis.com/media/coreografia.wmv

I attach a XFree log.

Closing this bug since people involved (either the submitter or some
confirmers) either did not reply to my ping a couple weeks ago, or said
that the bug is fixed for them. So this bug is probably fixed nowadays.
But, in case anybody ever reproduces this problem, feel free to reopen.

Brice
