Package: xerver-xfree86
Version: 4.2.1-12.1

Since kernel 2.6.3 has recently become available to testing, I installed it and booted. The kernel was unable to startup gdm, and I also could not "startx". The 2.4 kernels do not appear to have this problem. The kernel log complains about errors with XFree86, so that is why I am submitting it under this package.

Computer: Thinkpad 560X
CPU: Pentium 230MHz
Mem: 64MB

kernel package: kernel-image-2.6.3-1-386
gdm version: 2.4.1.7-1

The XFree86.0.log and kernel log (from dmesg) are both pasted below.

Closing this bug since people involved (either submitter or confirmers)
either have an invalid address, or did not reply to my ping a couple
weeks ago, or don't have the hardware anymore to try to reproduce. If
anybody ever reproduces this problem, feel free to reopen.

Brice
