I can give you the old xorg.conf but i cannot tell you the axect version of the packages and i cannot find the old the xorg.0.log. The packages were anyway part of 7.0 xorg version. the xorg fonts packages involved in the dist-upgrade are: x11-common to 1:7.1.0-10 xserver-xorg to 1:7.1.0-10 xserver-xorg-common to 2:1.1.1-15 x-ttcidfont-conf to 25 xfonts-base to 1:1.0.0-4 xfonts-100dpi to 1:1.0.0-3 xfonts-75dpi to 1:1.0.0-3 xfonts-scalable to 1:1.0.0-6 xfonts-encodings to 1:1.0.0-6 xfonts-utils to 1:1.0.1-1 x11proto-fontcache-dev to 0.1.2-4 x11proto-fonts-dev to 2.0.2-5 xorg.conf.back was the old one (i've copied it by a slackware 10.1. It was originated through xorgconfig) xorg.conf is the file i use now. It comes from xorg.conf.back (i've just modified the fonts paths to solve the problem) xorg.conf.just-after-upgrading is the file originated by debian. With it startx failed and gave me that error message. I changed it with xorg.conf file allegated I hope i've helped you enough bye Francesco ------------------------------------------------------ Passa a Infostrada.
