As far as I'm concerned, you can close it -- not because it's been solved (from what I've heard, it likely hasn't), but because I don't have the system in question anymore, and thus can't even try to reproduce it. The bug was also filed upstream (and confirmed there by a variety of people); so either it's fixed, or at least the people who'd be the ones to fix it are aware of it.
